Let Them Eat Cake!

I have a different type of creation to share with you today.... I finished my cake decorating class last night, so I thought I'd share my final cake (well - a picture anyway, DH took the actual cake to school with him. The other teachers love it when he brings in my "homework"!). I took the Wilton 1 class in the spring and had so much fun that I decided to go back for Wilton 2. My mom decorated cakes when I was growing up, so it was always something I wanted to try. I still need practice, but it's been fun to learn!

As a side note - if you are in the market for a great cake recipe, try out this one. It's the recipe I've been using since I started these classes, and I have to say it's the best cake I've had in a long time. I've only tried the white cake version, but I'm sure the others would be great as well. A very moist and dense cake!

Great job on your cake! I love the fall colors on the flowers.

as a memeber of DH's staff... I am just disappointed that I don't have lunch with him. I KNOW how great your cakes taste and this one is gorgeous. Great job as always!
